Friday October 6, 2023

2:00 - 4:00 pm.  Orchid entries will be accepted for the AOS judging. 

Due to festival set up, the nursery will be closed to the public.   Individuals with orchid entries for the show are permitted.

Saturday October 7th 2023​

9:00 am  Sign ups for Orchid plant registration

for AOS judging begins. 

Festival Officially Opens at 10 am

 

Greenhouse  self guided tours begin at 10:00 am.  Each station will have a knowledgeable guide that will answer questions you may have making for a delightful trip through the orchid growing grounds. See first hand thousands of gorgeous orchid blooms. Learn how these gems of the flower world are produced, grown, and shipped throughout the world.  Witness the orchids in the bottle!  Smell the chocolate orchids. See our newest arrival.  the cousiin It plant!   Enjoy a peaceful the day with the flowers.!

10:05 am  American Orchid Society  Ribbon Judging Begins. Three certified AOS judges will be judging  entries. Presented by the Riverside and San Bernardino County Orchid Society

10:30 am The Orchid Society of Arizona will be presenting a class on Phalaenopsis the Pacific Western Bank Learning Center.  This is a hands on demonstration. Participants will learn about orchids, and will transplant a blooming Orchid into a six-inch pot. There is a $25.00 charge for the class, which includes a blooming orchid for you to bring home. Proceeds go to the Arizona Orchid Society’s education fund. Class size is limited, Sign Up here

10:30 am The Official return of the very  Shari Baby Orchid Beer brewed by The Joshua Tree Brewery.  . Brew Master Dario Guerra will be unveiling a new Orchid Beer call Masdevellia Coco JT Brewery has been very generous partner to the Orchid Festival. Must be over 21 to purchase.

 

10:40- Opening set with Bob Garcia and the Glyphs .  

 

10:45 am  Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary Wine Tasting opens.  Select four different wines from our selection of seven for a $15.00 cover charge.  You can also purchase your favorite wine by the glass for $15 which includes a commemorative Orchid Festival anniversary wine glass.

 

11:20 am   Jorge's barbeque.  They will be serving pulled pork sliders, BBQ Ribs, and more. The best reputation for smoke meats in the Morongo Basin.      

12:00 pm  The Orchid Arrangement Class- Create and build your own orchid planter to take and enjoy at home. Your $35 fee includes two blooming orchids, foliage accent pieces and a decorative ceramic container.  Growing and care instructions will be discussed for your new planter.  Proceeds benefit the Riverside/ San Bernardino County Orchid Society programs.  Click here to sign up.

12:45pm The beat goes on with Bob Garcia and the Glyphs .

 

1:30 pm The Oncidium intergenric class is presented by the Orchid Society of Arizona (OSA). This is a hands on demonstration. Participants will learn about these exotic orchids, and will transplant a blooming exotic Orchid into a six-inch pot. There is a $30.00 charge for the class, which includes a blooming orchid for you to bring home.  Class size is limited, Sign Up here 

 

3:00 pm  The Orchid Class- Cultivation and Care of Phalaenopsis Orchids, crowned the most popular orchid in the world. You will be learning about the care and cultivation of orchids.  You will be transplanting a blooming Phalaenopsis into a six-inch pot.  The orchid is for you to take home and enjoy.  There is a $25.00 charge for the class.  Proceeds benefit Arizona Orchid Society education fund. 2:30- 4:00 pm  Encore performance by the Bob Garcia and the Glyphs .  

5:00 pm  The Festival closes for the day.

Sunday October 8th. 2023

10:00 am  Festival Opens 

Greenhouse doors open, The Chaparral Artists & Orchid Show open.

1:30 pm  The Phalaenopsis Class Presented by the Orchid Society of Arizona. (OSA), this is a hands on demonstration. Participants will learn all about orchids, and will transplant a blooming Orchid into a six-inch pot. There is a $20.00 charge for the class, which includes a blooming orchid for you to bring home. All the proceeds go to the Arizona Orchid Society’s education fund. You can learn about orchids, bring one home, and help a worthwhile organization. Sign up here.
