Each year we are reminded of how many organizations are in need, which makes choosing beneficiaries difficult. With the number of requests for support having doubled this year, the Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary Club has expanded the number of charities with the opportunity to benefit from this event. A portion of the funds will be donated directly to various local charities, while the remainder will go to other local groups with charitable status who will have informational or specific fundraising booths.
Our only two non-local recipients will be that of PolioPlus, a Rotary International cause to eradicate polio. The festival funds donated for this cause will be matched by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The other, the Orchid Society of Arizona, who will be conducting a free orchid class for children to further their interest in nature and love of plants.
Any school or 501(c)(3) charity with proof of charitable status may contact us for a free booth. Pre-registration is required and is on a first come first served basis.
