Known as cape fear by humans, the bogs of Wilmington North Carolina strike the same deadly chord with insects. It is home to carnivorous plant species such as the Venus fly trap (Dionaea Muscipula) and the Sweet Pitcher Plant (Sarracenia). Due to habitat loss and pollution, both of these ancient plants are on the endangered species list.
